Peace and Serenity
There’s an old biplane sign-writing on a cloud
A red blue and white poster, big and loud
Capitol Hill has coldly declared, “Chaos”, in the sky
Copied by the media’s dirty claws gone awry
Our messy world’s living on unclean ground
Lock-down’s isolation the silent sound
Stay calm and relaxed behind our covering masks
And lets inhale peace and serenity as our objective task

Warning (English Translation)
Three laid out
And fields of everything melted
Out all, all out.
And let’s light the bonfire-candles
And the winds from far away.
As ?who/might be something else? became brick walls
All, everywhere
And enough bones are cold
Kills everything
Warning
Warning
Outside, part of the icecold
Let’s light a bonfire, when it’s evening
And words wait bluecold
Let’s build again a silver shelter
And winds from underneath
As ?who? became brick walls
All, everywhere
There laid a thousand falls
And draws everything
Warning
Warning
Warning

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Ivor, this post is very dark! Your poem seems to me to be pointing out that the world is in chaos: nasty politics, police brutality, protests, and disinformation campaigns. All the while, we are being told that our best option is to hide from the pandemic, ignore all the bad news, and chant “om!” Am I even close to your meaning?
The lyrics of the song seem to be positively apocalyptic! Not sure what they mean, but maybe they are talking about the destruction of the environment, global warming, widespread pollution, and people dying from wars and the pandemic. I really tried hard to understand the message.
If this is the message, I can’t say I disagree with it. Assuming that all of this is true, what is the takeaway? What do we do with this, information… beyond meditating, I mean?
Many of us are trying to stay sane, to make our voices heard, to help those in need, to point out the good things in life that we are hoping to preserve. Do you believe there is hope? Or is all of this simply a warning about what will happen if we fail to act?
All the best. Cheryl

Yes Cheryl it’s a deep poem about our societies and governments, bland acceptance of the pandemics influence on the human psyche….. the number of deaths in America equals the population of Ballarat & Bendigo, here in Victoria, two of our largest regional cities outside of Melbourne… !!! .. pow gone ..off the face of the earth….. I’m sorry, but for me I can’t comprehend humanities lack of compassion….. and Trump’s still laughing like a clown… red nose and all….
Sometimes my writings are too concise, but I try to get my thoughts/message across in a simple metaphorical way with words that hit my readers between the eyes….and makes them think a bit…… xx

Ivor, I share your distress! Thank you for writing about this subject. A segment of the population still seems oblivious.
I have very strong political views. I think you may understand what is unspoken. This haiku describes how I feel.

Thank you for your poem Ivor. This part resonated with me, “And lets inhale peace and serenity as our objective task.” I have been mediating with “Breathe in love, breathe out peace.” It is one thing I can do for myself and the world. Keep your eyes on love. Take care.
