G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I love the idea of naming a plant Hope and watering it. I have a squirrel that plays around behind my home and I named her Trust. Now each time I see Trust, I smile.
So beautiful, Ivor…lovely plants, a gorgeous poem with uplifting images. Wonderful to be at home eating ice cream and dreaming beautiful dreams. Wishing you sunny days with soft breezes and much to smile about! ❤
Love your gorgeous plants/flowers! I hope your fern Hope will thrive and grow, she is beautiful. And I hope the hope in your life will thrive and grow. 🙂
This is one of your bestest poems, Ivor! It is so wonderful to be home and enjoy the comforts of home that are your favs! 🌿 🍌 🍦 🎝 🎜 🍷 🙂
Home should be place for safety, comfort, relaxing, renewing, growing, etc! I wish everyone had such a home. Especially all the children in our world.
I am SO grateful for my home! 🙂
Keep dreaming, Ivor! 🙂

Thank you dear Carolyn, the warmth of your words comforts my soul.. I have been to a fellow Poet’s book launch today… at the Analogue Academy.. It was truly a wonderful event, and I’m so happy that I made the effort to go along.. the afternoon was spiritually moving, his readings were superb, and a local singer sang a melody to one of his lovely poems… and of course I cried.. Maybe a poem and some pic’s tomorrow… 💚💙🌏
I always enjoy seeing pictures of your courtyard garden, the fern is is just one of your lovely plants. I love the poem, and how it tells of our love of the warmth and security of home – and of course that delicious ice cream! 🙂
Yes, home can be our safe place to fall.
Lovely words, Ivor.
I love, love, love Damien Rice. I think we have the same playlist. ~~~ : – )
