An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Arm Less
This afternoon I was having one of my recovery sleeps after my elbow surgery, when I was suddenly woken by a violentsummer storm, and in flash I wrote these words… and without a second thought of what I was writing or thinking, and without being bashful, here is my 5 minute poem
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

OH! What a powerful, poignant poem, Ivor! And a perfect pairing with that song/music!
Keep following doc’s orders as your arm heals and you recover.
I see you as one who has poems hovering all around him, just waiting to be written down and shared. π π

Thank you Carolyn. .. this one was of those instant pieces that the storm shocked out my sleepy head , and I was able to take the photo too .. sometimes I love how my little courtyard becomes the centre of the universe .. with Tullawalla overseeing all the proceedings β€οΈβπ©Ήππππ‘

Amazing how these powerful thoughts and ideas pop into our heads in those moments before we are fully awake. π

Intense and interesting. Sleeping from surgery on your arm and you wake up to this. I love the connection. Our brains do wondrous things.

Our fears of mobility are related to our fears of losing our life. Maybe in your dream you felt the oncoming approach of your own mortality …
