Today on Weekly Prompts the Wednesday challenge is:ย CHRISTMAS DINNER. Please visit their fabulous site by clicking on >> Here. .. and my poem ‘Christmas Lights’ is in response to their prompt …
Christmas Lights
A year of standing alone
Without the normal crowd
Talking to no one
Silence was far too loud
Shut in and locked down
Disinfected and scoured
Months of writerโs cramps
An elbowโs old nerve soured
Numbness travels to hand
Dumbness seemed to be allowed
Decemberโs faltering days
Turned into Christmas lights
And a New Year causeway
Seems to be within sight
Ivor Steven (c) December 2021

And to you, Ivor!

The Christmas tree dips its head
The kids rustle in their bed
Today is almost a new Year
Let’s face it without fear

It IS within sight, Ivor! Your photo and poem is wonderful! Let’s all hope together that 2022 will be a betterer/bestest year…and we will do positive things to help it be so! ๐
That is a spectacular tree! I love the lights at Christmas time so very much…and all the natural trees, wreaths, flowers, etc.! People here often decorate a live tree and then plant it out on their property after Christmas is over. ๐
Season’s Greetings to you and Sir Frankie! ๐
