I Confess

there is a darkness

within us all

waiting i confess

for that beckoning call

i am a mere man

her glass jar

folds in my hand

housing her lonely star

like lava bleeding into the sea

her beckoning green eyes

did melt me

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. This reminds me of many people I have interviewed over the years who lost a loved one. Though they did not wish their lives to end, they looked forward to being with those who went before them. I don’t know for certain this is what your referencing but it made me think of those people.

    1. Like most of my writings .. I write about the emotions of my thoughts rather than the event .. .. and I suppose you are right in a way .. I have that feeling of wishing to be reunited when I die
