Logically, I Am Here

Today’s poem is one that I wrote while attending a “Writing Circle” meeting, hosted by the talented and gracious, Ali Grimshaw … If you are interested in attending one of her fabulous on-line “Zoom Sessions”, you can visit her site by clicking on this link

Logically, I Am Here

Nonsense and logic

What is the difference?

In our world today

A forest breeze

Caresses my senses

Like flowering gum-trees

Free up my defenses

I love nonsense

Is it my best sense?

My most creative sense

Is it my good mood sense?

Free of commonsense

And government expense

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Great poem, Ivor! Powerful and ponderful!
Some nonsense (re: silliness) can be fun and safe. 😊
But there is so much, too much nonsense (drivel, deception, idiocy, etc.) being spouted out there these days that is causing harm, pain, confusion, etc. ☹

    1. Hi Carolyn .. It’s been a long day for … I was up a 5.00am this morning for the poetry live Zoom meeting from Portland USA .. far too early for Ivor to write something sensible .. It’s now 8.00pm, and I am heading for bed soon … .. Oh that Madrugada song, it only came up on my YouTube today while I was at the Box Office Cafe finishing off the poem.. and I have only heard it once myself … HaHa .. I like your funny socks … πŸ’›πŸ˜ŽπŸ€—πŸŒβ²
