G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Yes … I remember when I was in hospital a few years ago, and my neurosurgeon sat down on my hospital bed beside me, and said “You’re a Conundrum Ivor” … “you might as well pack your bags, and take that trip to America” … funny enough, 3 years later, I am still able to tell that little story .. 💕😉
Your poem is delightful, Ivor!… an ode to the unique power of poetry to communicate. Enya’s mesmerizing song, “The Humming,” pairs well with your poem. I had not heard it before. Thank you for a beautiful post! ❤
Yes! Your poem speaks truth!
Conundrum is such a great word…kinda’ stumper-y and mysterious. 😀 Life is filled with conundrums. Writing, of course, too. 🙂
Enya is always good for the heart, mind, body and soul.
(((HUGS))) 🙂
When I was in hospital 3 ago, my neurosurgeon sat down on the bed with me said, “Ivor you’re a conundrum, and we have done all we can do, my advice is to pack yor bags, and go on that trip to America, and enjoy yourself” … I still have the same underlying problems, but I am still here … thanks “Doc” for allowing me to go and my dream trip… 🌏💚😍
A lovely poem and ode to the poetic craft!

It’s sometime not easy, to get to understand another, simply, by, reading what s/he puts down on paper, but, we still, try.
