An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
A Seventy-Year-Old Mind, is up at Coffee House Writers Magazine
Hello dear readers and followers, as you may know, I now write for “Coffee House Writers” magazine on a fortnightly basis, and my poem “A Seventy-Year-Old Mind”, is in this weeks edition of Coffee House Writers Magazine. … please click on the link below to read my poem, at Coffee House Writers >> https://coffeehousewriters.com/a-seventy-year-old-mind/
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thank you Ingrid … I was trying to set up that contrast between how a normal 70 year-old develops his characteristics over the years … and is what going wrong with Putin’s 70 year-old mind … 😯🌏
Beautiful photos! Such a wonderful poem in tribute to your Dad, your Mum, your Carole 💜!!! 🙂 Amazing people who live on in you in such positive, sweet ways! 🙂 (I’m joy-teary-eyed.)
Your message to Putin is good and important! The contrast of acky-him 😦 to your beautiful-beloved ones is powerful…like darkness and light…like evil and good…like sorrow and joy…like hate and love.
I always try to be positive and hope a person can change. But, sadly, I don’t think Putin has any of the compassion, wisdom, kindness, love, charm, mercy, humility, helpfulness, justice, understanding, ETC., that you and your beloved-ones have, Dear Ivor! And because Putin cannot, or will not change, people suffer and die. So sad. So tragic. 😦
Thank you for being good, light, joy, and love in the world…just like your Dad, mum and Carole were.
(((HUGS)))
Thank you Carolyn .,.. I still Mr Putin might change .. he has family .. grandchildren … underneath/inside his seventy-year-old mind.. there will a fragment of goodness waiting to see the light 💡 🤗💕🌏🐶😊
We can only hope on Putin, but I’m not laying coin down on that one. He hasn’t graced himself with anything but the need for power at any cost. And in these cases, so many people are losing so much. May we who witness find a greater power from kind action…we already have the means, aplenty.
Excellent. Congratulations.

A wonderful poem of self-acceptance, Ivor! I doubt Putin even knows who he is, let alone accepts himself…

That guy could certainly have used those who helped shape your 70 year old mind Ivor.

A great poem, Ivor. Similar to what we did at d’Verse poets pub with repeated lines. It is amazing what we have accumulated in our 70+ year old minds.

I think Putin sees his life fast coming to a close and wants to leave his stain on the world before he kicks the bucket!

It’s been a very unwarranted and cruel war

Yes I am wits end to comprehend the brutality and destruction of Putin … the war is archaic and is against the decency of humanity 🌏🥲

It’s a short look back in history, though, to see his like. Very sad.
