G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

what an honour to be asked! No shame in saying ‘no’ … at this stage of life we need to have clear priorities, and being too busy isn’t helpful to anyone 🙂
Haha … we all have a bit of ego … maybe mine is in my poetry .. but this week I turned down an offer at CHW, to be a team leader and poetry mentor … I think they were disappointed …
If I start to feel uncomfortable and anxious about a situation, then I now know it’s time to back out … and swallow my little piece of ego .. live is a learning process all the way through .. 💕😉😘
That’s just it, we can’t, go back, to undo the hurt we caused someone, we can’t unsay the awful things we said already, we can, only, live with, the, consequences of these, bad things we already, did.
Keep being you (you are kind, wise, generous, compassionate, and so many more positive things) and keep doing what is bestest for you and your health. It’s okay to say “no” to things. I had to learn that word a few years ago as I was doing way too much volunteer work and trying to work and live life and ETC.
This is a wonderful photo, poem, and song trio, Ivor. Very relatable.
