Above
I see a withered desk
Hovering over a lake
Of torn white caps
Like shredded foam
On blue-lined papers
Below
I see a submerged floor
Drowning in clusters
Of broken dreams
Like abandoned shoes
On white-washed beaches

Definitely poignant…but a perfect trio of photo, poem, and song. Your images in your poem are so vivid and emotion-filled…as I read your poem, my mind/imagination got busy and could SEE your poem in great detail. If that makes any sense to anyone but me. 🙂

PS…AW on the photo! 🙂

It’s an abstract poem Carolyn … me sitting at my desk, like a white-knight, while my words of the world are spinnining around inside the confines on my little studio … Oh Frankie’s ears were flapping in the wind yesterday … 🐶 … and that music with Nick Cave & The Dirty Three is a true classic, and really suited the mood of my poem .. ((Hugs)) 🌏😉💛

Cooper’s ears do that, too…it looks like he will take off and fly! 😮 😀 😉

I read the comments to get a better understanding. Reread your poem, and felt kind of ….floating.

Yeah .. that’s the idea .. I write about what see and feel.. and I can be upside down or inside out.. while I am in the confines of my little studio while the universe spins around within my imagination 🌏😊🎶

This has a melancholy feel. I did want to go to the beach right afterwards
and run free on the sand with the breeze blowing. on my face.
