The Rear of Night (Revised)



My fading dawn was impossible to identify

A heavy fog had kidnapped my sky

Sabotaging my morning sunlight

The day disappeared in front of my eyes

The passing of night left a murky blight

There’s no start nor end to my blurred sight

Breathing in moist air, I gasp, “where’s the moon?”

Had my dismal forecast unravelled too soon?

Is this shadowless gloom?

The beginning of doom ?

  3. Doom…I hope not! And I always hope the gloom passes quickly.
    What a great poem, Ivor…I find meaning in three ways…weather-wise, world-events-wise, and emotions-wise.
    I always enjoy a bit of fog…knowing it will pass…but I don’t like driving in it! 😮 🙂

    1. Hi Carolyn .. I’ve been at my CHW Sprint session this morning .. now a little bit of time to do some blogging .. I’m a busy 70 year-old these days … I that song 🎶 last , wow, I cried too … and it seemed to be appropriate for the Russian/Ukraine war ☮️🌻🌏😊💕
