This is one of my ranting/protesting poems, where the world’s weird ways and woes are vividly pictured in my dreams/nightmares … (June 2019) … Or maybe my ‘Alien Back Pain’ has me angry and grumpy, and I am just desperate for some interplanetary respite.
My Alien Eyes Have Seen Enough
I’m scattering stardust, upon sorrow and grace
Tip toeing through a desert of dying tulips
Before my species vacate this miserable place
Blasting away from here, in my Itmims* spaceship
Flying back into the depths of dark space
To regenerate and revive, from this trying trip
Sadly, we gathered nothing of any value
From this warring human race
Their radioactive sky, was once bright blue
Vast oceans are full of their own waste
They breathe thin air made of sticky glue
And the earth they walk on, is a garbage tip disgrace
Their concrete graveyards, are the warlords database
Women and children, dead, casualties of religious lunatics
My alien eyes have seen enough, I’m leaving without a trace
Political gamer’s never learn, they’re still reusing old septic ice-picks

So many aspects of the world we see today, we have turned ugly, polluted, selfish, angry & sad. I wonder if those who went before us saw their time in the same way, looking back at their childhoods or ancestors & “the good old days?” Time, repeating itself, to a greater or lesser degree. Maybe they didn’t realise the harm that was being stored up for our todays, but unfortunately, we’ve built on it, big time! You’ve really captured that anger & disappointment at our predicament, Ivor. Maybe those who have been lying there for however long, had the best years, our future is not their problem..but it is ours! 😦

Good morning Debbie (Here it’s 7.50am Sunday), Thank you for thoroughly comprehensive and interpretation of my poem. I do tend to write these sort of environmental protest poems every now and then.. I get emotional and angry about the apathy and ignorance of our society in general. Life seems to be lived in their own present, selfishly and greedily for themselves, without due consideration or care, for our planets future. So I feel compelled to keep writing about these important issues. hopefully I’m helping in some small way…. xxx

Good evening, Ivor, (it’s 10.10pm here in the UK now haha!) I totally understand your feelings in these respects..it’s so sad to see the demise of our beautiful planet through the complete lack of care from others, who only have their own agendas at heart, & usually for financial gain. Keep on writing your words of protest, every little helps, & changes start with education. xx

Well done Ivor spoken from your heart 🙂
I’m guessing this cake comment that I spotted in your comments above ended up in the wrong place. “One step into this shop, and you cannot leave with buying an armful treats/cakes.” I had to smile and was wondering what reply went to the person on your other post who was commenting on the cakes!! :))

Sometimes comments get jumble around, and they do look odd in the wrong poem !!

Me too! I’ve written several, what I term as rant poems, which are in my BrewNSpew series and a while back. Perhaps, it is time I bring them back to life.

So true. It reminds me of that old commercial where the Native American was paddling his canoe up the stream. When he reached the city he saw all the trash scattered around and a tear fell from his eyes to see what we had done to the land.

Yes the native people of our nations had a better understanding of their environments and lands their lived .

That’s so true Ivor. It is easy to take things for granted, and we often realise the value of things when they are lost. However, I hope humanity would wake up to the fact that we have only one home and we need it more than this home needs us.

I hope you have space in your ITMIMS for me! We need to continue to be vocal about our environmental concerns – I don’t know how long it will be until the point of no return.

That’s what I’m afraid of, there will be a point of no return, and they’ll still ignore the signs !!
There’s space, in my ITMIMS for all the lovely people in my world

Good morning Carolyn.. my ITMIMS spacecraft is always on standby for any emergency… my back continues to improve “slowly” … still very sore … but I’m working hard, lots of stretching exercises 3 times a day… I’m not writing at all, but I might try to do a poem today for the CHW magazine.. we’ll see how I go .. I have a few days to complete an article 🌏💕🤗

Keep resting…keep obeying and doing your stretching…in time it will heal. 🙂
Seems the more well-seasoned we get, the slower our bodies heal.

If only, we are all, from outerspace, can make our getaway, by, hopping on that, spaceship, to, take a, needed break from the planet, earth, the world would heal, and, everything will, get better, but we can’t, so, the world is, going bad for, yet, another, day…
