Drumsticks
Thump, thump, thump
The muffled beat of drums
Hollow depressing throbs
Hauntingly echo
From behind the heavy door
Of the jurors’ chambers
What will their verdict be?
The courthouse gallery is full
Humming in anticipation
Has the Drummer Boy’s case
Been handled fairly?
The alleged fatal weapons
The Boy’s drumsticks
Are yet to be found!

Thank you Kindly Carolyn … it was my furtherest drive away from home for over two years … it was quite an adventure for me (only 40minutes) … and I am so pleased I made the effort. … A lovely old historical building and a great venue for our writers workshop. … and it’ll be our monthly venue for the next 6 months … so I suppose there will be more poems from the old Courthouse … 🏡😍🌏🐶

I’m glad you made to the Drysdale writers group. I wanted to go but was moving house that day. I will definitely be at the next one.

Yes … I should be ok too … I’ve been undergoing some skin cancer treatment on my face .. it’s been very uncomfortable and look messy 🤗🌏📘
