Tullawalla #31, The Closing Chapter

Hello dear readers and followers, I am announcing “Today” that “Tullawalla #31” is to be the final publication in my series of “Tullawalla” Booklets … For new readers that don’t know about these booklets, they are basically the reason why I write poetry. I produce these ‘home-printed’ booklets for the sole purpose of raising funds for my favourite charity organisation, the MS Society, in Australia via the MS Charity Shop here in Geelong. And actually all money’s I receive for any of my poetry .via, submissions, I donate to the MS Society…. I’m proud to announce, that the sale of my “Tullawalla Booklets”, have now gone pass $1500.00, … to all the lovely readers, who have donated, to help achieve such a wonderful amount, a big heartfelt thank you, from “us” and the MS Society … …..Incredibly, there is now a total of “1347 poems”, Yep, over “Thirteen Hundred Poems” in my collection/series of “31” Tullawalla Booklets. After 6 YEARS of processing these booklets, my journey has finally come to an end, and here I am back at the ‘Front Gate’ to the Tullawalla, (House Number “31”), I have now completed the cycle

… As always, they are available for purchase, either as a hard copy ‘Booklet’, or a PDF format….. All proceeds go to the MS Charity Shop, here in Geelong West….. Please contact me here through my website page and I can chat to you about arrangements from there…. Oh, the booklet is appropriately called, “Tullawalla, The Closing Chapter”… And here is the link to my website >> https://ivors20.wordpress.com

Tullawalla #1 the first one: Tullawalla #15 the middle one: Tullawalla #31 the final one

The Closing Chapter

After the first page was turned

The tale progressed slowly

Unopened books were lost

Unused words were found

New novels had to be read

The search for more

Went on, and on

Adventure volumes were added

Expansion soared upwards

Higher than fiction could fly

Fluttering beyond

The ladders last rung

Where the quest for more

Was out of reach

And the story of unknown possibilities

Remained the unfinished saga

Of the closing chapter

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  2. All good, or bad books, come to an, end, and, that is, how it is, there’s no way of, avoiding that, just like all the things we love will eventually get, taken from us too, no matter how hard we try to hold on, they will, still be, gone…

      1. I move with the leaves
        I shine with the chrome
        I’m almost alive
        I’m almost at home
        No one to follow
        And nothing to teach
        Except that the goal
        Falls short of the reach
… Leonard Cohen … some wondrous and profound lines 🤗📖
