Birds in Flight

The Weekend Challenge from Weekly Prompts is the word: OLD. Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking on >> Here

This morning I luckily managed to take several bird in flight photos using my “Old” Apple iPhone. Of course, I had to enhance and enlarge them, but fortunately, a few of the photos came out ok, and subsequently, with excited enthusiasm I wrote this poem “Birds in Flight”.

Birds in Flight

Our spirit birds sleep all night

Then emanate at first light

To resume their dedicated flights

Our watchtower sentinels of Mother Earth

Who sacredly ascend at first light

Forever in flight, since nature’s worldly birth

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Cindy .. I’m definitely not a Derrick, but after a bit of editing the photos were ok 🤗 and Xavier’s lovely music/video got me out of trouble 😍

  1. Such a beautiful powerful trio, Ivor! Photos, poem, song/vid!
Your poem flows and soars like a bird in flight and lands in our hearts!
It is a joy to watch birds in action and be inspired by their courage, their boldness, their hard work, their ability to live life with optimism and conviction. 🙂
We’ve seen a variety of birds this winter, but I’ve been so shocked by one lone white dove who has been visiting us. Usually they go south for the winter.

    1. I wonder why he stayed behind for the winter … he has a story to tell Carolyn 🕊️😊 … I think birds are so wise and courageous to be flying so high and having the amazing ability to sail through and use natures wind to commandeer the sky … watching them so enthralls my imagination 💭 😊😍🦅🎶
