A Lightning bolt struck

My branches were almost dead

Steadfast, here I stood

Allowing roots to regroup

And rebuild my forest roof

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. hank you Kate … the concert was fabulous , the crowd was mostly aged 30 upwards … no bands or orchestra, just a small Irish guy with a great sense of humour and heart wrenching love stories. No computer-generated sounds, no mind-blowing light shows, Just the beauty of his sorrow, the power of his voice, the melody of his guitar and the mellowness of his piano. I felt his pain through his lyrics, the emotions through his voice, the tenderness through his notes. My soul soaked in his symphonies, my body caught the cadence, my eyes filled up with tears and my throat quivered under its throbbing pulse. And when a Brazilian angel joined him in with the purest of voice and the most infinite grace, the duet’s serenade penetrated my pores with its charisma and melancholy. Yes, my sort of show … Maybe do yourself a favour and go and see @damienrice 🙌🏻
