Birds and Trees (a Haiku)

Trees are for the birds

Nature’s protective towers

Don’t destroy their homes

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Wonderful, Ivor! Photos, Haiku, and song/vid! 🙂 😀 Great message in your poem!
Trees add joy to my life! And birds do, too! Their singing, their hooting, watching their busy-ness, their coming by to visit. 🙂 We have some ravens that will chatter at you if you talk to them! 🙂

    1. There is lots of trees along our walkies track and the birds enjoy the trees 🌲 … luckily my photos were ok … usually they are too quick for me… no matter the weather they are always there to give my day an happy start 🤗🌏📘📖😍🐶🌲🦅

  2. If only, we can all be, aware of the, effects we have on, nature, then, maybe, we wouldn’t, destroy, so many, natural, habitats of the, other species that are, sharing this, environment with us, humans…

  3. Between forest fires, greed driven building companies annihilating woodlands just to build houses we don’t need, and clearcutting, the trees have no chance, and then we don’t either, no trees no oxygen no life, but money is more important.

      1. Yes it is. It would be so easy to fix the population, clean and restock the oceans, save the trees. But in all needs investment and it needs compassion. But when all people think about is themselves and money. It will never happen.
