G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

15° here at 11:42pm and I’m just about to switch off my bedside lamp for the night. (Late for me) It’s a bit cooler than it has been which suits me well. I hope you have a warmer day 🙂
Good Morning! Now almost 07:25 am and I’m sat in bed with my morning coffee and the iPad and it’s 16°. It’s expected to rain for much of today. We need the rain up here in Yorkshire; up until Sunday when we had a couple of downpours we hadn’t had any rain for weeks. 🙂
16° is just about right for me too, but it’s quite humid at the moment and no breeze.
On Sunday I sat upstairs with the French windows open just watching the rain pouring down. It was so refreshing.
You’re the experts of going without rain so I shouldn’t complain of being without. 🙂
This is wonderfully expressed, Ivor! 🙂
It was warm here today…but this posting gave me some coolness to enjoy.
Stay dry, warm, and safe, Ivor and Sir Frankie!! 🙂
I saw you and this posting on Uta’s blog-site! 🙂 So nice of her to share you with others! 🙂

Great poem and great choice of music. If you’re looking for other winter solstice songs, check out Solstice Morn by Izolda Trakhtenberg.
