Both the evening moon

And the bright afternoon moon

Decorate my room

With gray slithery shadows

That dance across my pillows

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    Your poem is so wonderful and relatable! 🙂 Those moon shadows do like to dance! 😉 I think they herald the way for the sun to (come back on stage 🙂 ) appear again. 🙂

    Moonshadow song…I once read this…”Cat Stevens said he wrote this song about finding hope in any situation. Every moment in life is rich and unique. Whether we are aware of it or not, we are always hopping on moonshadows…the inescapable present moment.” ❤️

    Your post today reminds me that if we are wrapped up in worry about what could be, or what has been, then we are missing the richness of life in this moment. So be present, positive, and appreciate the joys…like moonshadows “that dance across my pillows”. 🙂 ❤️

Thank you Carolyn for your fabulous response to my enjoyable little Tanka … I took the daytime photo on our walkie and the nighttime photo before we went to bed … and I was fascinated by the moon’s two beautiful appearances in the one day … and thus my poem was born , and yes I am so pleased with how my thoughts evolved … and “Cats” wonderfully positive song 🎶 was perfect for my happy poem … 🤗🌏😍🎶🐶🌔🌚💙💛
