An Enchantresses Flower

Today’s poem is a piece I’ll be reciting at Geelong’s Lowercase Poetry open mic event tomorrow evening (Thursday)

An Enchantresses Flower

Beyond the golden horizon

Blooms a star-spangled ocean

Beware!

Beneath the sparkling whitecaps golden hour

Beckons the siren Circe with her enchantress flower

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. Ours Is monthly open mic night … well attended, 40 – 70 , with a mixture of age groups, but mainly under 30’s with the females in majority … and I’m the oldest …

      2. lol Lismore was also monthly, the first I went to was their only ‘female’ nominated night … only the 2 middle aged guys running it attended. Sad the guys weren’t interested in hearing the women … after that it was males only with a few token ‘pretty’ girls. Guess that will change as the old boys club dies out!
