The Weather’s Like a Boomerang
Saturday afternoon
We are stuck in the lounge room
Talking to the idiot-box
Outside there’s a winter monsoon
And the rain-god’s drops
Are as big as tablespoons
Full of crushed ice-blocks
Our day of play has gone
Tweedily tweet! The cuckoo sang
“Time to yawn
until tomorrow’s dawn
while waiting for tonight’s moon
to throw the next boomerang”

Sounds like you need a warm cozy fire to sit up against. I enjoyed the music video!

Frankie likes walking in the rain… I don’t mind as long as it’s not too cold 🥶

Only you could get tweedily tweet into a poem and make it sound good, kudos for that alone. Excellent write too

Thank you Jez for your kindness … I wasn’t sure it was going to work but when I read back to myself a few times, the poem’s rhythm seemed ok 🤗📖

Winters will, get colder and colder by the years, and, there will only be, more heat that comes, during summertime, and, we all need to stay cool, so, we crank up the A-C, or, because it’s too cold, we need to, use the, heaters even more, and, all of that emits more, carbon, which causes global warming to, get, worse and, worse, there’s no, effective way, to, reduce the carbon, emissions, unless we all get, taken out by, nature’s, forces here.
