WHERE HAVE THE FAERIES GONE?

    Deep in the enchanted forest
    Under mossy rocks and water-reeds 
    I found an iron-bar door
    Lying over a sinkhole in the creek bed

    I wondered and yelled out
    Eerily, a gentle voice replied
    “Do not worry, we are sheltering here” 
    “Why are you hiding?” I inquired 
    “We are waiting for humanity  
    to stop the carnage on our planet”

    Then, peering up from lower in the chasm
    I witnessed that the small luminous eyes  
    Of Earth’s guardian faeries 
    Were en masse, joyless, and crying

    G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. Thank you for your persistence Willow … I’m in faerie land at the moment … enjoying a past players reunion at my local football club … probably a few to many beers 🍻 already … but I’m here having a fun time and reminiscing the old days 🤗🌏😍
