Mushroom Clouds




Why is there always a dark side

When the moon shines so bright

Who’s taking us on this blindfold ride

While our reasoning is out of sight


Why is there always a silver lining

When treacherous clouds are hovering so low

Who’s making the lower world enchanting

While our malignant demons grow and grow


Why do we call them magic mushrooms?

When all they bring is gloom and doom

Who’s controlling this aging Mother

While our pleading hands are hustled undercover

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  6. Powerful, heart-touching photo, poem, and song. My memories, and emotions, of that day are as vivid and strong as if it happened yesterday. 😦
    Through out history, around the world, there are too many of THOSE kind of days that are so shocking, so sad, so tragic. Life is short. There should be no time for hate.
