Latitudinous

Latitudinous

Today, spring swirled

And reversed back to cold

I was discombobulated

And felt sullenly too old

To cope with Mother Nature’s moodiness

And her mobility above the latitudinous

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Here, There and Everywhere

    Yesterday Fall was suspended
    in its downward trajectory
    Something’s going on here
    Something’s going on

As if to make a decision
    Of ascent rather than descent
And be in unity with my friends
    Up over

To laugh at the way they talk
    And marvel at strange animals
    Who see a different sky

  2. Mother Nature can be a fickle lady! Sorry you got the cold weather. Your poem though, is delightful. “her mobility above the latitudinous” 🙂

Beautiful and appropriate music video. I hadn’t heard it before.

Hot cocoa to the rescue, Ivor! Hope it warms up soon! ❤

    1. Thank you very much Cheryl … actually I went to an open mic event in the evening and they had the heaters on and it was quite cosy and we had a great crowd despite the weather 😊🌏😍
