Aristotle

Over at Moonwashed Musings, the Weekly Prompt is: Mottled Sky Page >> https://amanpan.blog/2023/10/31/moonashed-weekly-prompt-mottled-sky-page/ …I have been overdoing it lately … writing until I am almost exhausted, so my response to the prompt is a bit jaded and moodily a ‘Bittersweet’ poem.

And at “Weekly Prompts” Wednesday Challenge the prompt word is: Bittersweet. You can visit their wonderful site by clicking on >> HERE

Aristotle

My magic Genie has been bottled

I was writing beyond full-throttle

My pencil became rough and cobbled

And my dreams were infirmed and mottled

Then I thought about the genius of Aristotle

“There is only one way to avoid criticism:

do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. I love your poem, Ivor, but because you republished it on a new date, your pingback is no longer working, so Gerry always finds an empty page when he starts his day and attempts to follow your pingbacks.

The address that your pingback used is the first address below. Note the date…
    https://ivors20.wordpress.com/2023/11/01/aristotle/

When you re-publish, and it’s your following day, the date on the post address changes to include the new publication date…

So your pingbacks always lead to Page Not Found. The same goes for anyone receiving a notification, such as via email. All lead to Page Not Found.
WordPress doesn’t send out a second notification when you republish.

If you create a second pingback just before you republish, the second pingback will lead to the republished post. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Cheryl … I’m trying to wind back a bit … my over-enthusiastic mind has not a corresponding youthful body anymore … yes!! I need to take more breaks and get myself doing some relaxing gardening … 😊🌏🌹🌻
