The Mystique (a Musette)

I find the Musette’s restrictive poetry format, to be very challenging
A Musette is,
three verses
first line – 2 syllables
second line – 4 syllables
third line – 2 syllables
rhyme scheme – a/b/a c/d/c e/f/e
The title reflects the poem’s content

The Mystique (a Musette)

Friday
I said to you
“Please stay”

You said
“Only one night
Twin beds”

Next week
We savoured the
Mystique

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. This is excellent, Ivor! 🙂 You nailed the Musette! And it’s message is great! Ooh! 😮 🙂
Oh, and a lovely accompanying photo! 🙂
AND I always enjoy some Mr. Morrison singing/songs! 🙂 Speaking of Van…this song always make me think about our soul’s journey and our life journey…we have loved and been loved, so we have no reason to fear “the end”…we have lived life to it’s fullest/bestest. 🙂
(((HUGS))) ❤️❤️ for you and Sir Frankie!! 🙂 🙂
