Crumbling Clouds

Crumbling Clouds

The third day of a summer heatwave
They have been searing scorchers

Today, I saw the blistering hot wind
Evaporate the edges of the crumbling clouds

There will be no rain tonight
Only a cooling zephyr to caress my brow

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. A wonderful trio, Ivor! Gorgeous cloud photos, powerful poem, and lovely Mr. LaMontagne song/vid! (I remember way back in 2005, my oldest son and his wife introduced me to Ray LaMontagne’s music!)

Please keep yourself and Sir Frankie safe in the heat!

    1. Thank you Carolyn… the heat wave is finished and it’s cooler this morning … Ray LaMontgne’s song was superb for my poem … the clouds were intriguing, they would form then all of a sudden disappear/evaporate … and my poem was short and concise because of the heat 😊💛🌞😑
