Evening Lights


My welcome light is on and shining

The twilight moon is iconically glowing

And the setting sun has thrown

A laser light across the horizon

The evening show has begun

There is enough room for everyone

Join me and Doctor Who’s Tardis crew

Enjoy a timeless front-row view

For a magical evening of fun

And savor another of nature’s classic re-runs

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      I’ve been lucky, our summer afternoons and evenings have fine and clear, making for spectacular viewing, that inspire me to write a few poetic lines 😊🌏📕🌅🎶😍

  7. Beautiful! Joyful! All of those lights at night are so welcoming and heart-warming!
    We’ve had some cloudy nights for quite awhile…but tonight the sky is totally clear and the moon and stars are putting on an amazing show! 😉

    1. Hi Vanessa … yes a happy ELO song 🎵 to go with my happy poem … I seem to be getting busy as I’m getting older … I’ve just published my new book 📕 “Until Eyes Hear Sound”… then 23 & 24 I’m going to the Clunes Booktown Festival … as book stall vendor 😊🌏📚
