My Mirrored Moon

My Mirrored Moon

Last evening, the midnight moon

Infiltrated my room

Like a mischievous raccoon

This morning, the sky’s silver moon

Enshrined our blue lagoon

With her debutant’s festoon

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh, my gosh! You know I love the moon, too! 🌖🌘🌝
This is great Ivor…your photos, poem, and THAT song! 🙂 A trio of perfection! 🙂
Your poem is a delight! One of your bestest ones! I read it twice aloud. Coop turned his head toward me to listen. 🙂
(((HUGS))) and continued condolences and prayers for your family. ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Yes I’m “moonstruck” Carolyn … I’m about to leave for funeral… it’s a long drive and my sister is driving me, and my brother will look after Frankie… today would have been uncle Brian’s 100th birthday … and I’ll be reading a little poem at the service

      When the summer sun
      Rose for you
      Did the silver moon?
      Shine on you too

    1. Thank you, and that is precisely the image I was trying to create… our reflections are not always the same … the night is not always dark … the moon has a bright side and black side, …🌓🌏🤗
