My Easter Sunday Project

I had enough wooden letters, some leftover pieces of timber, glue, white semi-gloss paint, and assorted cans of spray paint colours.

The Project; to design and build a stand-alone large bookend for my “Poetry Book” shelf.

Result; My bookend/stand looks colourfully handsome, and sturdy.

I thought of rhyme alone,
For rhyme can beat a measure out of trouble
And make the daylight sweet once more.

William Butler Yeats

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. I’ve lost count of the little mistakes I’ve made. I read it back later and wonder why I didn’t notice at the time of writing! Tiredness plays havoc with our minds; we don’t rest our brains often enough. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Carolyn … it’s probably a bit big for a β€œbookend”, but my poetry books and the all the Anthologies my poems are published in, are heart and soul of my writings, which is a β€œbig” part of my life πŸ˜ŠπŸŒπŸ˜πŸ“šπŸ“–πŸ“•πŸΆ
