The Bedroom Chair

It’s zero degrees outside
and I’m warm and cozy
lying here in bed
However, there is a pile
of my winter clothes
on the bedroom chair
waiting for me to wear
Frankie gives me his
get up now stare!
wanting his morning fair
β€œYes Frankie, it’s time
for me to embrace
the chilly morning air
and plunge myself
into the filtered sun’s
brittle wintry lair”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you and Frankie is getting groomed this morning and he’ll need to wear his doggie jacket for a few weeks 😊🐢πŸ₯Ά

    Stay safe and warm!
Coop just got back from his “spa day” (groomer) and he’s feeling cooler (with less hair) on this warm rainy day. πŸ™‚

  2. They always, have a way, of, making us get up in the morn, NO matter how much we do, NOT want to, and, they work, way better, than our, alarm clocks…at least, the clocks, have that, SNOOZE button, and, our pets, they would not, let up, until we get out of bed and, take them out, to do their, businesses…
