A Day of Celebrations

My Birthday today (73rd) was a day of celebrations.
* On our morning walkies, we were gifted a beautiful rainbow
* In the afternoon I had the pleasure of attending my Football Club’s (Bell Park) 40th anniversary/reunion of the club’s 1st Senior Premiership in 1984
* Being a close-knit club, everyone knew it was my birthday, so the reunion celebrations were double the fun for me.
* It was well after sunset when I finally arrived back home, and Frankie was happy to receive his dinner, albeit a few hours later than normal …

Enjoy everyday, like it’s your birthday all the time, do something special for yourself, take yourself out for that extra cup of coffee, order up an extra piece of pie or cake, and, keep counting the blessings that you have in your life, and, everyday will, feel like a, birthday celebration for you, and, have a safe and happy birthday, share the special ocassion with those you care about and care about you.

  20. Oh, Ivor, I have questions! Which Football? I’m trying to remember which state you live in. I think VIC, in which case AFL. I love this reunion. What a remarkable thing to be able to do. I can’t believe they could get hold of people and track them down. And on your birthday too. What a fun day. Onto more questions… I need to know what team you go for! Who is your team? And of course… which team do you hate? I’m from Queensland, but am one of those few up this way that follows the AFL. Happy birthday to you, Ivor. I’m grateful to have come across your poetry, so I feel its appropriate to celebrate your birth and all you bring to this world.
