G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. My words are open for interpretation … we think we are ‘Modern’ but basically we’re not changed as a society … we are still racists, we still have wars, and we still don’t feed nor educate the poor

      1. Nothing has really changed it’s just gotten bigger and worse. Violence against women, children, animals, the earth and other humans. It’s insane. Poverty, no health care, food deserts, lack of education…it never ends. America is a country that takes care of the rich and forces people into poverty through racism and the other isms. Felons/known criminals can run for president.

  6. Excellent answer, Ivor! THAT would fix a lot of the problems…it would help people to think about others and not about all-the-possessions they have and want. Material things are often the source of discontent, anxiety, selfishness, etc., in our lives.

    1. Oh, another beautiful quote … and yes we are far too materialistic … and in reality we are not modern, we are still racists, we still have wars, and we still don’t feed nor educate the poor … 🤗🌏😍💕📘🐶🎼
