The Olympics are over
Now! Is an appropriate time
For our ancient and humble moon
To accept the shiniest medal
For being the friendly games
All around the World, marathon champion
During the endless days and sleepless nights
Our timeless warrior of the sky
Was the competitors overseeing, quiet achiever

Henceforth I duly declare
The “All Nations” podium belongs to the moon
For today, tonight, and all of our tomorrow’s

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Yeah for the moon 🌙 … our ancient moon definitely deserves a shiny medal … for such a brilliant display during the Olympics … there was no fanfare or international TV coverage but in our hearts we knew the moon 🌙 would be there for us in that quiet unassuming way … 🤗🌏😍🌙🌓🐶🎼
