Above Dark Waves (a Haiku)

The sea grows darker

Is the light glowing brighter?

Above these wide waves

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. A fabulous trio…photos, poem and song/vid!
Your Haiku poem shares a powerful, ponderful image! I love that it has traveled to be read by many people! 🙂
I’ve visited some lighthouses and they just fascinate me!
I love that we human-beans can be like lighthouses…we can live with light, helping others to navigate rough challenging times. 🙂

    1. Thank you Carolyn … as it happens, I’m needing a lighthouse beacon to show me the way … I’ve worn myself out, and nearly exhausted … Open mic on Thursday night … a huge day of writing submissions on Friday … and today was the Creative Geelong Market … needless to say, a shining light leading me to my bed, is the cosy place I’m looking … 🌏😊😎😴😍📘
