Gale Force

Gale Force

Nature is huffing and puffing again
Gustily blustering across the plains
Wild enough to blow a dog off a chain

The final blast of winter’s cold gales
Is hammering the air with invisible nails
Wild enough to bow the feathers on a bird’s tail

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Mother Nature, always has a way, of, putting us, humans, in our, places, with the adverse weather conditions, letting us know, who REALLY is, in charge, but, can we, read her well, and, take note, and stop, taking, so greedily from the, resources?

  2. Mother nature is moody, Ivor! We can’t get rid of summer where I live and we have wicked afternoon thunderstorms with gusts up to 47 mph. She is definitely in charge! 😱

  3. Fabulous photos!
Grand poem…your words cause me to feel AND hear the wind!
    Lovely song/vid!
The wind is one way nature reminds us of it’s great power and control! 😮
I hope you and Frankie are safe!
When the wind blows so hard it shakes the house, it scares me.
    (((HUGS))) ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Thank you Carolyn … and the wind is still ‘blowing’ … haha, another ‘wind’ poem tonight! … Frankie and I are both sleeping very soundly after battling the wind during our walkies … 🌏🌝😍🐶
