An Unstable Fable

An Unstable Fable

At times, imperceptibly and involuntarily
I appear to be vulnerable and disabled

I have lost my agility and movability
My inabilities could have been a liability
But I am capable and dependable
And over time, I have developed adaptability

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. When you can’t change the conditions of your health, all you can do, is, adapt to it, change you attitude about it, or, you will, have it hard, for the rest of your life, as the, physical conditions that impact you are, here to, stay.

  2. A powerful quartet…photos, quote, poem, and song/vid. We can all relate to that tree…and gain inspiration, encouragement and hope from it. Like that tree we rarely get through life without some bending…but we mustn’t break. πŸ™‚ We must hang onto our positivity, our gratitude, and our adaptability. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you very much Carolyn … one of those poems where the photo inspired my words … and I’ve surprised myself with my “adaptability” … Damien Rice’s song can be adapted to many situations … πŸ’›πŸΆπŸ˜ŽπŸŒπŸ’•πŸ˜
