G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. OH! What a powerful trio, Ivor…photos, poem, and song! Perfection! 🙂
I’ve always been fascinated by blackbirds. We have some that visit here and they are quite chatty. 🙂

    1. Oh! What lovely comments about my “Musette” … I’m still learning how to write them, and this proved to be quite a task for me to write … thank you for your kindness Carolyn 🤗😍📘🌏🐶🎶💕

  2. I love this Ivor! I particularly love the way you ended it, too. And that song is perfect for it…thank you for the reminder of it.

There have been a number of times when I have visited Darrin’s grave, and the magpies have kept me company with beautiful song. Such sublime moments

    Hope you’re well
