G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. For me itโ€™s sad to see a tree being chopped down to a stump and then poisoned so it wonโ€™t grow again โ€ฆ and thus my analogy, wars are poisonous ๐Ÿค—โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐ŸŒ

  1. An important, emotion-evoking trio…photo, poem, song/vid!
That stump, and the message it gives in your poem, is a powerful reminder of how damaging people can be to not only other people, but to nature and the whole world. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ In war, so many things (physically, emotionally, etc.) are lost forever. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

    1. Thank you for your supportive comments, Carolyn โ€ฆ and yes, my message is to be more respectful of Mother Nature, she needs our help, not our hostile warring ways โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒ๐Ÿถ๐ŸŒฒ

  2. Excellent poem, Ivor, with a very important message for everyone. Beautifully written! A couple of years ago I wrote some stories about trees having voices and what they say at various stages of their life, through ordinary times, happy ones and during painful ones. I believe any living thing has the capacity to feel sensations, just one reason I talk and sing to my houseplants. We really need to be much nicer to our planet. Look at everything Mother Nature has given us.
