Rehabilitated

Rehabilitated

In the days of old
When the turquoise sky
Wore a smile of pure white gold

I remember gazing up beyond
The yellow wattle blossom
And I discovered the universe
Was a deep blue infinite pond

Today, I am perplexed
I witnessed the same colourful
White-gold and blue vortex
Resurface inside my cosmic annex

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Yes … a bit like Dr Who, I’ve regenerated myself after each of my 3 strokes, but I’m not the same person … my poem is a bit vague but rehabilitation is only a partial fix, and life’s puzzle is missing some pieces 😊

    1. Yes … a reflective poem that is full happy and sad emotions … a bit like Dr Who, I’ve regenerated myself after each of my 3 strokes, but I’m not the same person … my poem is a bit vague but rehabilitation is like that, only a partial fix, and my life’s puzzle is missing some pieces ??? πŸ€—πŸŒΒ

  1. Beautiful heart-touching trio of photos, poem and song, Ivor.
We go through so many things in life that leave us changed…sometimes changed in negative ways…but, also, in positive ways…each day we live we learn, we grow, we persevere.
That song always brings solace and hope. πŸ™‚ I heard years ago that George Harrison wrote it at a particularly difficult time in his life. I’m so glad he did!
You keep writing, too, Ivor! Your poems uplift, inspire, help, comfort, teach, bring smiles, help us feel less alone in our struggles and so much more. Your gift of writing poems is a gift to all of us who read them. πŸ™‚
