Bunny Ears

Bunny Ears

Nearing sunset
And the bunnies abound

Shyly grazing
Warily alert

Ears pricked
Noses twitching

Timidly aroused
By the slightest intrusion

Privately perceptive
Until eyes hear sound

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Hello Ivor, Thank you very much for sharing your poem! It is really beautiful and perfectly captures the tender mood of the bunnies at dusk. I can really imagine them hopping around carefully, always on guard and yet so curious.

The pictures you paint with your words are simply magical. It is impressive how you have captured the sensitivity and alertness of these little beings. The poem made me smile and at the same time made me think – a wonderful combination!

Ivor, I wish you all the best…
