The “Flower’s” Curtain is Closing

Today (Wednesday), the “Corpse Plant’s” Flower had begun wilting and closing up. I think the next stage of the flower’s demise will be the collapse/folding over of the central spike (the Spadix). Yes! … I’m coming back tomorrow.

Because there were no queues today! we had time to explore and discovered some interesting displays in the Botanical Gardens.

Wow … it’s nearly midnight … these pictorial articles/posts are taking me a long time to prepare and put together! … now, to find a suitable song …

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh! I’m so glad you and Frankie got to go back again! And hope you do go back at least once more. So beautiful to see and document (in your photos and words) this amazing plant/flower! πŸ™‚
I think there are so many comparisons from it to us human-beans. For example, here’s one thing: some human-beans are slow bloomers, but when they do bloom they are so amazing. πŸ™‚
Wonderful song choice today, Ivor! πŸ™‚
Sweet photos of Sir Frankie! πŸ™‚

    1. Yes … I’m going back again today … It’s been a tiring adventure for us, we both slept in this morning! … the weather is cooler today and there will be no queue … so it’ll be far more relaxing for us … although waiting in the queues was fun for me … lots of friendly chats and I handed out lots of my ‘Poetry’ website cards … πŸ’œπŸΆπŸŒπŸ˜πŸŒΊπŸ˜΄

      1. There’s no way you could not go back, dear Ivor! Who knows when you’ll get another opportunity like this? You’re very lucky to have the time and ability to visit every day and record this incredible transformation, from birth to death, in just a few short days. Looking at your fabulous pix validates the many hours spent creating this memory! Enjoy your next visit! πŸ’›πŸŽπŸŒπŸ’›πŸΆπŸ’›
