Sharing



I am a scrubby tree
Shaggy like a wild woolly bee
However, the birds always befriend me
Perching on my bent knees
And pecking at my flowers and leaves
Like a flock of grub-thieves


I am unselfish and kind
And intuitively, I do not mind
My branches are there to be shared
My sacred patch has been spared
And is politically unimpaired

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    We must spend more time with trees…communing with them, caring for them, appreciating them, sharing with them, and being more like them. They are such good models for us! 🙂

    1. A wonderful quote, Carolyn … my little iPhone camera has going non-stop lately and luckily some of my shots turn out ok … trees are so important, and yes, we need to be far more appreciative of how much they give and share with “us” … 🌏💚🌳🎵🌝💛
