Throwback Friday, Tomorrow’s Sky

I originally wrote today’s ‘Throwback Friday’ poem in June 2021 as a protest against the proposed drilling for oil in the “Great Australian Bight,” a protected ocean area known as the Great Australian Bight Commonwealth Marine Reserve.
And as is my way, I have revised and rewritten my poem “Tomorrow’s Sky”

Tomorrow’s Sky (Revised)

Floating upon my bed of rhyme
I continued to drift into Dreamtime
Reaching out through the window
I imagined what I could borrow
From the world’s future of sorrow

And beyond the blue horizon
On the edge of the Indian Ocean
I grabbed a piece of tomorrow’s sky
Strange, the feeling bamboozled my eye

Then magically I saw an azure hue of daylight
Within the shimmering mirage of nature’s plight
An unpolluted view of the “Great Australian Bight”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Yes… It’s very important that they don’t do the oil drill in one of nature’s pristine and wondrous Ocean’s 😊😍📘💕🌏… Thank you for appreciating my poem, Carolyn 😊🌏😍🎶
