Talking to a Restless Moon
On this scorching afternoon I spoke to a restless moon He said, “The sky’s blue balloon has been treacherously harpooned by a scary orange buffoon who openly sucks on his own dirty silver spoon and be warned, no one is immune”
Since then, I’ve been lying low But soon I’ll need to leave my hot bungalow And fly forward to a safer and cooler tomorrow
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

This is very powerful, Ivor. And quite relatable to me.
I love the photo of Frankie and your restless moon poem. My little farm here in Yorkshire could use a little of your heat. Our thick snow is frozen solid, and the temperature is heading to minus10°C (14°F) this evening. Thank you for taking part in our challenge, Ivor. 🙂
We’re freezing here in NY, dear Ivor. It’s currently 20ºF and the cold winds are blowing like crazy but seeing sweet Frankie warms my heart. 🐶 🤎 Dreadful wildfires in California making the area of Los Angeles look like a war zone. It’s now turned deadly; such as awful tragedy. 🙏🏼

I haven’t been outside since the temperature dropped at the weekend, It’s too icy. I’m staying indoors where it’s cosy and warm.

‘moon doggie’ was Annette funicello’s name for her boyfriend, Frankie Avalon, in the old beach movies from the 50s and 60s
