To Find a Shady Spot

To Find a Shady Spot

Walking from one shady spot
To the next shady spot
Via the streetโ€™s shopfront verandahs
We arrive at our favourite Cafe
Where the staff gives us a welcoming wave

Outside, the blazing sun is wickedly hot
Inside, beneath the fan, in a shady spot
The open porch area remains hot
Although a caressing sea breeze
Is beginning to cool our lot

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. I got a big wave because I was their last customer, the staff were shutting up shop early due to the extreme heat, but they let us stay for a while, so I wrote this little poem and gave it to them before I leftโ€ฆ ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“˜๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“–

    1. Thank you very much for your lovely words, Cindy โ€ฆ as it so happened, the staff were shutting up shop early because of the heat, but they let us stay for a while, so I wrote this little poem and gave the poem to one of the waitresses before I left โ€ฆ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“˜๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“–

      1. Thank you for your very kind remarks, Carolyn … the cafe staff love receiving copies of the poems that I write at the Box Office Cafe, and one of girls has quite a collection of them … ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“˜๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“ƒ๐Ÿถ
