The Journey Home (a Haiku)

Today, the 17th of April, is Carole’s birthday (deceased May 3rd, 2012)

The Journey Home (a Haiku)

Sometimes our journey
Crumbles like dry honeycomb
Without a queen bee

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. We should, always try and remember those whom we loved dear but had lost in life, in their, best days, because sometimes, that is, all we have, to help us, carry on with our lives without them. The heart will eventually let go of what we’d lost, but we will, never, forget…

  2. Aw. 😦 So true.
This posting of Carole’s photo, your haiku, and that song brings tears to my eyes.

Continue to celebrate her life and love…the sweet memories, always remembered…the truth that she watches over you and waits for you… πŸ™‚
