Thirteen years ago today, it was the “Time” that I made a “heart-stopping decision”
Did Your Heart Stop Too?
Did you cry too?
When the doctors told you
She was not going to recover
Did they ask you too?
About what you already knew
It was time
To flick the switch
And dim her light
Did your heart stop, too?
Knowing
You had emptied her shoes
Did you sleep there too?
During those infinite days of blue
Softly holding her hand
And not letting go
Did you weep too?
Blankly alone
In her full room
Waiting
For her last silent breath

It’s never easy, when we need to make the decision to let someone die, because we loved them too much, and we don’t, want to, live our lives, without them, but, it’s more difficult, knowing that we’re, keeping then alive, because we can’t, let go, prolonging their, suffering, and so, we are, forced to make the, hard decision, to let go, and forgive ourselves, and death too, evenutally…

You and Carole were among the most fortunate and favored to have shared a love so wondrously beautiful, sweet and powerful. For every tragedy in life, there is also a glorious blessing. 🥰

This brings the tears and makes my heart hurt. Oh, Ivor! ‘Tis the most difficult, but most loving decision one can make for a beloved one. 😦 I’m so sorry you went through out all of this, Ivor…and to experience such a great loss.
But I know you find comfort in your thoughts and memories of Carole. I do believe she would smile about that…and she would want you to continue to find comfort in the joy you two shared. 🙂
(((HUGS))) ❤️💜❤️
PS…Such a touching and beautiful song…It hits the heart and soul so deeply…
