Beautiful and Bright

Written for Eugi’s; MoonWashedWeekly-Prompt-May6,2025

Beautiful and Bright

I was daydreaming
Of something beautiful and bright
While I was watching the golden sunset
And admiring the Sun’s dazzling light

I was thinking
About how time
Metamorphoses during the night
Between sunset and sunrise
And I was wondering
About the world’s absence of surprise

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Yes, I remember the song … thank you for your β€˜humbling’ words, Nancy … the trouble is lots of people don’t appreciate their surroundings, they’re too busy being greedy and self-righteous … πŸŒπŸ’™

      1. My new day has just begun and Frankie is still asleep, so there’s no great rush, just a writers group commitment after lunch… have a restful and relaxing evening, Nancy πŸ€—πŸ˜πŸŒπŸ˜ŽπŸΆπŸ“–πŸŽΆ

  1. This is lovely, Ivor. Waking up every day to a beautiful sunrise, and ending the day with a beautiful sunset, should be not be taken for granted. πŸ’›πŸŒž
