Hit and Run
Reluctantly, there I was
Tidying “our” shared nature strip
Picking up the obnoxious rubbish
And placing it back
In “his” smelly garbage bin
Which had been knocked over
By the “neighbour’s” visitor
The culprit had fled the scene
The “cavalier neighbour” remained inside
Distur‘bin’ly,
This was a messy case
Of “Hit and Run”

Your experience is annoyng and disgusting, put the rueful post is delightful, Ivor! 💕 We are in a building boom and are surrounded by empty houses. Maybe I should stop wishing someone would buy the houses! 🤣

A tell-it-like-it-is tale. Lucky you got to it before the local wildlife had a heyday with it.

Yes, the hungry birds would have had a picnic 🧺

Excellent tale, dear Ivor! And how serendipitous that we both wrote about aggressive gulls! We are fortunate to have wonderful neighbors …. and separate garbage bins! Very cool song as well! 🗑️🦅😎🌏💛🎶♡

UGHS! ACKS! ICKS! 😮
But, HA! We have birds who do such a thing here. The large birds like to open the trash bins, poke around, and help themselves. Of course, in doing so…they make a mess on the ground.
‘Twas so nice of you to do the tidying up AND write a poem about it. 🙂
Fab photos! Creative poem! Perfect title! Great song choice!

I’m pleased you enjoyed this one, Eugi … rather than display my anger to the neighbour, I wrote these words instead … 😍🌏

We all share this type of frustration with Mother Nature’s menagerie from time to time.
